About the Work:

This body of work is meaningful to Rick because they are images of the Lowcountry where he was raised. Each image holds a special memory for him. In addition, the project of bringing these images together for the new Cardiovascular Unit of MUSC touches his heart because of his own family’s experience. His father, Reverend John R. Rhodes, Sr. passed away from a heart attack in May of 1999. Because of the support and encouragement of his father, Rick was able to move forward with his dream of becoming a photographer.
